Rope And Chain Kits, Matched To Your Winch

The ideal size of rope and chain depends on your boat's weight, the winch's capacity, and the anchoring conditions. Typically, heavier boats require thicker chains and longer ropes for better holding power. We recommend consulting your winch's specifications and considering the depth and type of waters you'll be navigating to determine the correct size.

A rope and chain kit combines the flexibility of rope with the strength of chain, offering the best of both worlds. The chain helps with weight and anchoring strength, while the rope offers easier handling and the ability to extend the anchor's reach. A chain-only kit provides consistent holding power but is less flexible and heavier to manage.

To keep your rope and chain in top condition, rinse them with fresh water after each use to remove salt and debris. Ensure the chain is free from rust or corrosion, and inspect the rope for any fraying or damage. Regularly check the splicing and connections to ensure everything is secure. Store your kit in a dry, cool place when not in use.
