From One Mate's Boat To Oceans Worldwide
Savwinch designs and engineers electric drum anchor winches and related products in Tullamarine, Victoria. Our research and development team meets weekly and is constantly designing, improving, and prototyping products to add to an already impressive range. From drum winches to anchors to pot haulers, and on to the world's first fast fall system and a fully stainless steel deck wash pump, you can rely on Savwinch to bring you the latest and the best.
Today, our gear works on tinnies in Tasmania, cray boats in the Pilbara, charter fleets in Cairns, and naval fleets and water vessels across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.

Savwinch was named Exporter of the Year by the Australian International Marine Export Group at the 2026 Australian Marine Industry Awards.
2023
BLA Local Supplier of the Year
BLA named Savwinch its Local Supplier of the Year at the 2023 BLA Trade Show in Queensland. We have supplied BLA across Australia and New Zealand since 2017.

Our story
How Savwinch Started
Founder Nick Savva has spent most of his life around boats. His professional background is in gearboxes and industrial motors, including work as a Sales Engineer for some of the world's largest manufacturers. That experience shaped the way Savwinch products are engineered.
The business began when a mate asked Nick to build a drum anchor winch for his 680 Haines. Nick found the options on the market expensive with lots of room for improvement, so he designed his own.
It worked. His mate loved it. Nick fitted another to his own boat, where it is still running today. Word travelled quickly. He produced a few more, and as demand increased he realised he had something special.
Savwinch has been designing and engineering drum anchor winches for over two decades. Every drum winch in today's range traces back to that first design, refined over time for different waters, hull sizes, and anchoring setups.

Savwinch drum winches are engineered around IP68 sealed motors and backed by product warranties and direct technical support.
Classic Series (CS™)
The heritage range. The original Savwinch design, still in production and still earning its place.
Signature Series (SS™)
Stainless steel motor, alloy gearbox, and stainless steel drum, with models for boats from 4 to 25 metres.
Stainless Steel Series (SSS™)
Premium range. Fully stainless steel construction for boats that spend their lives in saltwater.
Commercial range
Free-fall drum winches, capstans, pot haulers, and custom builds for charter operators, industry, and government.

Savwinch has supplied custom winching equipment to universities, mining operators, the Australian Army and Navy, automotive companies, and research groups. Projects have included commercial pot haulers, mining probes, davit winches, and bespoke deck equipment.
