Savwinch is a family owned Australian business that has been manufacturing drum anchor winches for over a decade. During this time we have supplied our anchor winches to boat owners around the world through our extensive dealer network, as well as boat builders worldwide which total over 40 at last count. Since our humble beginnings we have strived to improve our anchor winches with innovative design changes and features a long the way. This will continue long into the future.
Motor Design
Our motors are designed and engineered in-house specifically to be used on a drum anchor winch in a marine environment. Our 316 stainless motor casings are milled down from a single casting, not an off the shelf item with a sticker, cover or sleeve over the top. Our motors also feature injection moulded plastic sections which are used to fill any cavities inside. This unique and patented feature prevents moisture from getting in and corroding the motor from the inside out. Our motors are also O-ring sealed with an IP68 rating. There are also no exposed terminals which would otherwise be major points of corrosion. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that no water/condensation can get inside our electric motors, which is the biggest cause of failure in anchor winch motors.
